We dare call it a stroke of genius to snatch the actor Viktoria Winge to front a new campaign for the mobile subscription Komplett. The girl with a hundred faces manages without words to tell us every thought that runs through her head when different and funny situations occur in her life. All tied to the mobile, of course, but perhaps that is why the films are easy to identify with. The mobile phone is deeply incorporated in our lives and we recognise the crises when it’s not working: The dates we might miss and the information we can’t remember. This is director Hallvar Witzø’s first TV-commercial campaign after he graduated from the Norwegian Film School in 2010, and started to work for the production company Paradox come fall. However, Hallvar is no freshman and directed for instance the taped parts of the beloved television program “Storbynatt” – an up and coming director with a great sense of humour and a stoic calmness. The message is communicated loud and clear, both visually and with a firm voice-over: The new yellow pages do not only include old-fashion lawyers and handymen. You can also find products and where to buy them. As that fabulous Whyred jeans at Sole… We love the documentary feeling of it all, made possible by a stand-in at the shooting called Linn. She walked around for two days with a big helmet and a camera on her head. Everything is totally identifiable, especially for us Oslo dudes and dolls. Strongly influenced by our own associations to the product, of course. Coming up is also the film of new Originale Pasta products. Both films are shot on the very popular Alexa by Nico Poulsson, under the direction of Steinar Borge. In an all-Italian setting, with bright coloured red tomatoes and green basil, you can almost smell and taste our beloved Italian food. The hunger gets us, that’s for sure and that must be the primary goal for food commercials. The production company is Trøbbel and the producer is Miriam Pedersen. So good in fact, that the retired Norwegian boxer Ole Klemetsen (who we love to hate) and the highly quoted Anna Anka are convinced that they get a special treatment. Ole asks if the cashier is afraid of him, playing out the unstable, impertinent and hard-hitting stereotype of himself. Mrs. Anka thinks she gets reduced prices out of - a: pity (can’t afford anything after the break-up with Mr. Anka) or - b: The Hollywood-treatment. Our favourite line is still the one when she understand that every customer get the same deal: “Åhh, hva trøtt jag blev”. A really clever and funny campaign from the advertising agency TRY and the production company Trøbbel with director Steinar Borge and producer Miriam Pedersen. Norwegian School of Creative Studies aims to educate people for a variety of professions within the creative industries, because creativity can be learned. Director Andreas Lisberg impresses with his advertising campaign debut for NFK. Surrounded by experienced people and crew, he makes brilliant films with a sparkle of freshness and innovation. We simply love the security guard with a hunch for huge light installations. The film is shot by Anders Flatland on Arri Alexa and with an “untouched” casting, the outcome is as young and charming as it should be. The production company is Paradox and, as always, the company and its producer Beate Tangre bring with them a mark of quality. Post-production by Hocus Focus and post-producer Henriette Carlsen. A double hurray for Henrik Berge’s second major editing job in a very short time (yes, we will soon stop counting).
