COMING UP: THE BIG CHASE. DNB HAS DONE IT AGAIN. AND AGAIN. AND AGAIN. THE CLOONEY CAMPAIGN IS UNBEATABLE IN A NORWEGIAN COMMERCIAL CONTEXT.
You might perhaps already seen a trailer of the sequel at the cinema or some sort of a burial on your television screen. We follow two burglars steeling the treasure chest from a previous commercial with Clooney and his extraordinary lucky wife. The pictures of the happy couple on the fridge are visible as the two dark-hooded men begin their very, very long escape. Simen is the childish one and Gunnar is the paranoid one. They have long and idiotic conversations about BSU, savings, and good fortune. The plastic shoes crocs is one topic, and the film Ocean's Eleven (2001) featuring George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt is another. After hotel showers in alcohol-free Champaign and bets on horses, the two men run away with the chest in the Norwegian woods. It looks incredible stupid, and nothing makes sense, really. One of them is identified, there are quarrels, darkness, digging and steadycam, helicopters, police and dogs are barking. Still, we don't know what's in that treasure chest, even after 26 minutes. Directed by Andreas Lisberg (BomBom), produced by the master company of horrific chases, namely Fantefilm and Elle-Beth Lønnestad. Post produced by Pia Nyhus and Hocus Focus: Edited by Henrik Berge, colour grading and online by Mathias Theissen and sound design by Preben Grieg-Halvorsen. What an exciting concept - watch this space...
