THE SEASON OF AUTUMN IS ALSO THE SEASON OF LAMB. ANIMASJONSDEPARTEMENTET (= THE DEPARTMENT OF ANIMATION) HAS CREATED THE LATEST FILM FROM GILDE, A COMPANY AND BRAND OF NORWEGIAN MEAT ESTABLISHED IN 1964.
Lamb is not “only” lamb. We have for instance lamb chops, we have leg of lamb, we have saddle of lamb and we have roast lamb. However, we are here talking about a gourmet tenderloin of lamb from Hallingskarvet. The film is a combination of 35 mm film and classical animation, and it looks great. Following a hand and the fine lines of coloured pencils sketching mountains, grass and lambs, the illustrations works perfectly together with the pronounced dialect of the voice-over. As we get a lecture of certain obviously very nutritious and healthy flowers and plants to eat for our future dinner (Sølvbunke, Fjellsveve and the famous Setermjelt), we also believe we get a taste of the untouched Norwegian nature with the lamb beef. Well done by producer Jakob Thomessen and director Martin Engh. The film is scanned at Hocus Focus in-house GoldenEye scanner.
