I CAME HERE IS THE THIRD MUSIC VIDEO IN A TRILOGY DIRECTED BY EMIL TRIER AND WITH MUSIC BY TORGNY ADAMS. ALREADY NOMINATED IN THE CATEGORY OF BEST SCANDINAVIAN MUSIC VIDEO AT BERGEN INTERNASJONALE FILMFESTIVAL IN OCTOBER, THE DUO MIGHT COPY LAST YEAR’S AWARD.
Hocus Focus has been fortunate to work with all three of the music videos. What have they in common? The beautiful, calm and soothing music is playing together with documentary material from different youth cultures around the country. We have previously written about the Yobbo’s from Notodden and the all-Norwegian culture of the Russ (=student in the final year of upper secondary school). The team from Hocus Focus completed just recently the last part of the trilogy from the Swedish-Norwegian duo. This time we are travelling all the way up North to Kautokeino and Lapland. There is an overwhelmingly sense of solitude, coldness and desertedness that encircle these fabulous young people on their way to find everyday meaning. The observing and silent camera of Petter Holmern are telling us more than thousand words. About relationships, about longing, about hope and dreams – “I told you everything” as Torgny featuring Maria Due tell us in the lyrics. The future of Finnmark is represented with tenderness and honesty in this great music video produced by Magnus Castracane and edited by Martin Stoltz. Colour grading by Haavard Albertsen and post produced by Lene Cathrine Albertsen and Hocus Focus.
