THE WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY IS THE 10TH OF SEPTEMBER EVERY YEAR. WITH LENE MARLIN'S RECENT CHRONICLE IN MIND, THE IMPORTANCE OF SUCH A DAY IS UNQUESTIONABLE.

The focus on the overwhelmingly many young ones struggling with life, is confirmed and emphasised by The International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) with support from World Health Organization (WHO).The documentary Leve/Live take the debate and work of preventing suicide a step further, on behalf of Red Cross in Norway. The basic principle of the organisation is the protection of human life, and as such the film tells the stories of several youths. They appear different in many ways - some of them with experience of loss; others have struggled with internal and well-hidden depression. The one thing they have in common is that they all have attempted suicide and survived. These are strong stories, which make an impact. As such, the film contributes to a deeper understanding of why, at the same time as it manages to rip off some of the old prejudice concerning suicide. Essential work from director and producer Fred Heggland and the production company Klikkmonster in cooperation with Red Cross, Jon Schultz, the Olaf-foundation and Unge Leve. Hocus Focus is grateful to have been given the opportunity to post-produce the documentary.
