SALTY PEANUTS FROM POLLY MIXED WITH DELICIOUS CHOCOLATE FROM NIDAR, CAN IT GO WRONG? NOPE, DON’T THINK SO.

Directed by Rasmus Sivertsen. Produced by Irene Sødal Didrichson and Qvisten Animation. Post-produced by Pia Røe Nyhus. Online and grading by Bengt Ove Sannes. Sound design by Preben Grieg-Halvorsen.

FIVE NEW CHANNEL IDENTITY PROVIDERS FROM THE NORWEGIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION ARE RELEASED THIS SPRING. THERE IS ALWAYS A TOUCH OF MAGIC CONNECTED TO THE IDENTS FROM NRK.

It is like the institution is building its brand of quality, innovation and knowledge by creating these eight seconds of everyday pleasure, realism, fantasy and colourful beauty. As when hundreds of young Norwegians are jumping up and down in front of a stage in the rain at Rådhusplassen in Oslo and the giant blue ball that exemplifies the dot in the NRK logo is bouncing between them. That is what we would call poetic realism. So is the blue ball bouncing down the stairs close between summerly dressed legs and feet, and the spectacular view from an air balloon. However, the one ident from the city with a small crowd looking up into the sky, is pure magic. The idents are as up-close and personal as they are commonly recognisable, so perfectly balanced and put together – the background, the colours, the sound design. Yes, the NRK idents continue to be small pieces of art that brighten up our television days. Directed by Jan Otto Wiig and shot by Simon Hawken. The 3D animation is created by Tor Øra. Post-production by Hocus Focus with editing by Thomas Løvig, colour grading by Haavard Albertsen and VFX by Bengt Ove Sannes and Haavard Albertsen. Post produced by Ole-Arild Svendsen.

A NEW YEAR ALWAYS BRINGS WITH IT A FRESH START FOR A WHOLE LOT OF TV-SERIES. APPEARING ON OUR SCREENS THESE DAYS ARE NO LESS THAN THREE AWESOME NORWEGIAN SERIES PARTLY POST-PRODUCED AT HOCUS FOCUS.

Yes, we have been busy in 2014. But finally, we can brag about yet another season of HELT PERFEKT. About season 4 of the situation comedy slash mockumentary, we can only say that it is getting better and better. Thomas Giertsen and Ine Jansen are totally believable, and scene after scene are so embarrassing to watch, that it really hurts – well done. We are eternally grateful to contribute to this series, this time with online work by Shanon Moratti. Produced by Feelgood. Great humour as well, as we are invited by TVNorge to COSTA DEL KONGSVIK. Lene Kongsvik Johansen leaves the schoolsystem in Norway behind and brings many of the beloved characters to a charter hotel at Gran Canaria. Wenche is tired before she gets there, of course, Birgitte is desperate to save her marriage and the lovely Alfa male Alexander are ready to use a couple of trick to seduce the ladies. To be continued… Colour grading by Mathias Theissen and effect shots by Bengt Ove Sannes. Produced by Seefood TV. There is also much to laugh about, when you tag along PÅ TUR MED DAG OTTO. However of a more existential kind. Without a bike, but with great dreams and many challenges to do things he never has done before, it is at times a tough ride. His partner in crime Kristian Ødegård is still by his side, which is a good thing. The former bicycle champion managed to scare us all as he began spitting blood in the middle of a triathlon in England. Which leaves us with the questions: Is sport really healthy and how will all of this end? Tune in on recommendation from Hocus Focus. Colour grading by Mathias Theissen. Produced by Seefood TV.

THE FILM EGRESS FROM THE INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED NORWEGIAN ARTIST KNUT ÅSDAM HAD ITS PREMIERE AT OSLO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL LAST WEEKEND.

Åsdam creates his art through film, video, photography, text, sound and architecture, searching for and investigating the borders between the subject and its environment. ENGRESS is located in a gas station in the outskirts of Oslo. The main characters work at the gas station and at the bottom of the oil company hierarchy. It is in the outskirts both geographically and socially, which is a rather dark place to be. Even - or perhaps especially - in the most wealthy country in the world. EGRESS is also screened as a part of an installation Knut Åsdam is exhibiting at Trondheim Kunstmuseum and at the exhibition EDGELANDS at Slought Foundation in Philadelphia, USA. The film is directed by Knut Åsdam, produced by Knut Åsdam and Leif Magne Tangen and shot by Martin Testar. Hocus Focus has worked with Åsdam on previous productions, and we have been given the opportunity and trust to do so again with EGRESS. Post produced by Ole-Arild Svendsen, editing and colour grading by Mathias Theissen, VFX by Shanon Moratti and Bengt Ove Sannes. Sound design by Preben Grieg-Halvorsen. To be inspired, take a look at the review in Artforum, where EGDGELANDS is the critics' picks.
