WITH 26 UP AND COMING DIRECTORS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD, THE ABCS OF DEATH ANTHOLOGY IS REFERRED TO AS PERHAPS THE MOST AMBITIOUS FILM ANTHOLOGY EVER MADE.
The director Thomas Malling, who made the incredible “Norwegian Ninja” in 2010, is one of the chosen directors. Inspired by children’s educational books, what soon will become a feature film is comprised of twenty-six individual chapters; each guided by an assigned letter given to the different directors. The sum of these parts, from A to Z, will be The ABCs of death and the horror of 26 different ways to die. Malling was given the letter H, and as the other directors, he was given free reign in choosing a word as the basis for creating a short story. Embrace yourself – the key word is H… Hocus Focus has been so lucky as to work with Thomas Malling in post production most of January to complete his part of the film. With each and every image needing VFX, it has been a lot of work and a lot of fun putting all the effects together. To tease the H, it takes place in a stripping club during the Second World War, where Bertie the Bulldog and Frau Scheisse hook up. We can say as much as someone will die, in a very, very painful way. An exciting project and an exciting film, from the production company Fantefilm with the producers Hugo Hageman Føsker and Elle-Beth Lønnestad. Post produced by Ole-Arild Svendsen and Hocus Focus: Edited by Ove Kenneth Nilsen, VFX by Bengt Ove Sannes, Ove Kenneth Nilsen, Mathias Theissen, Shanon Moratti and Haavard Albertsen. Colour grading by Haavard Albertsen. Original score by Johannes Ringen and sound design by Rune Baggerud. This highlight of a horror anthology will be released in 2012, so watch this space.
