THE EVENT OF THE YEAR, THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE SEASON: THE COMEBACK OF THE NORWEGIAN CHRISTMAS CALENDAR NISSENE PÅ LÅVEN THAT AIRED ON TVNORGE IN 2001. TEN YEARS LATER, (BELIEVE IT OR NOT) THE SANTA CLAUSES ARE BACK.
Twenty-four episodes of 11 minutes pure pleasure. The plot is same old, same old: Twenty-four Santas, someone new, someone old, are split into two teams of The Grey Beards and The White Beards. One Santa must leave after votes and heavy competition in each episode. With more force than ever before, the series are making a total mockery of every reality show, every reality participant and every reality viewer in this sweet country of rice porridge, woods and pixie hoods. Oh, what a joy! The characters must include some of the funniest, yet sharpest, caricatures ever created in Norwegian comedy. Honour and glory to the directors Kristian Ødegård and Espen Eckbo, who also plays no less than five characters in the series. Hocus Focus editor Thomas Løvig has been a part of the editing team from the beginning. Already in the summer of 2011, he was absorbed by the world of the Santas, chuckling away his working day. Others involved from Hocus Focus besides post producer Henriette Carlsen, were Shanon Moratti and Mathias Theissen, who shared the colour grading work. With such a huge production, many, many TV-minutes needed to be adjusted and fine-tuned, and with a time limit of just one month, it was a big advantage to split the grading-work in two. We guess you have all seen the result and the top-reviews by now, so additional bragging is unnecessary. Congratulation to Seefood TV and producer Trine Stubberud, and thank you for an honourable assignment.
