COMING UP: A MUSIC VIDEO FROM SEPALCURE, DIRECTED BY THOR ERLING BRENNE. “PENCIL PIMP” IS THE FIRST SINGLE FROM THEIR FORTHCOMING ALBUM WITH THE SAME FASCINATING NAME. THE ELECTRONIA DUO (MACHINEDRUM & BRAILLE) FROM NEW YORK IS CONNECTED TO HOTFLUSH RECORDS, AND THE PREMIERE HAS ALREADY TAKEN PLACE AT PITCHFORK MEDIA.
What is PitchFork? One of the largest New Music Portals in the United States of America – no more, no less. Bloggers in both US and England have already written about the release on various music portals: “The video has an incredibly strong Norwegian theme, reflecting the beauty of the country. Shot incredibly well and with a surreal story concept (or lack of), the video slightly confuses the viewer with incredible landscapes and imagery, but in surreal situations while three people seemingly try to interact with each other”. Let me add to the confusion x-rays, tents, cat masks, tennis courts, human organs and great fires. Without asking what exactly the typical Norwegian theme is (the bizarre lack of interaction?), we have thereby decided to call this strange, peculiar and beautiful video a great success. So is the cooperation between Hocus Focus and the rest of the team. All credits, fame and glory goes to director Thor Erling Brenne, DOP Martin Edelsteen, producer Tim & Joe and executive producer Tamsin Glasson. In post production, great work was done by Erik Aster offline, art director Sougwen Chung & Cato Lauvli VFX and Hocus Focus with Mathias Theissen’s colour grading and online. In front of the camera: Emir Mulaosmanovic, Guro Bøe Linnet and Kari Skotnes Vikjord.
