WE AT HOCUS FOCUS ARE STUCK ON A FEELING. A FEELING CONCERNING OLD FASHION ANALOGUE FILM AND ITS REVIVAL THIS FALL.
The up and coming commercial from FastElektriker (= the steady electrician) is shot on 16 mm film to support and substantiate a great sense of the 70s in the first part of the story. There is something touchingly nostalgic that is beautifully captured in everything from the flowery Marimekko wallpaper, the brown turtleneck and the corduroys. Likewise in the huge glasses, the too short jackets, the too large sideburns and the mind-blowing selection and variations of interior patterns. Even the birdsong is very 70s. The big question is: What is really going on between the father electrician and the gorgeous blond lady client? Is she the love of his life?? To sum up, a happy-go-lucky feel-good commercial from director Sten Hellevik and the production company Motion Blur. Produced by Ola Narum Berg and post produced by Henriette Carlsen and Hocus Focus. Edited by Ove Kenneth Nilsen, colour grading by Haavard Albertsen and online by Bengt Ove Sannes. Sound design by Shortcut.
